Can social media be used to make the world a better place?
The folks from Mashable think it can and ask individuals around the world to use social media to benefit their communities through fundraising drives, viral videos telling moving stories and awareness campaigns.
Mashable invites social media users worldwide to join the social good movement by taking part in a Mashable Meetup on Social Good Day, Sept. 21, coinciding with the Social Good Summit. These meetups are a chance for like-minded individuals to discover fresh and innovative ways to use social media to create awareness and solutions. In Dubai, the Bonnington Jumeirah Lakes Towers, is organising the city’s first ever Social good Day meetup. You can find the invite & RSVP here.
The event takes place on Wedensday, 21st September 2011, from 6.30 p.m. onwards at the on the Pool Deck of the Bonnington Jumeirah Lakes Towers, high above the Jumeirah Lakes Towers. The open-air venue is an ideal place for an after work meet-up and to do some good at the same time.
The Bonnington will donate 10% of all food & beverage takings during the event to charity – come along and help decide where the money should go.
