March has been quite the month so far for us here in Jumeirah Lakes Towers!
First up, our hotel basketball team won the 2013 Dubai inter-hotel championship! Congratulations to Cezar & his team!
Secondly, our hotel towels were awarded the 2013 UAE Fluffies Award for the fluffiest hotel towels in the United Arab Emirates. Our towel won in the contest, which was launched by radio station Dubai 92 and judged by the stations breakfast show presenters Catboy and Posh Anna together with Katie Heskett from Ahlan!. The Bonnington towel won based on its fluffiness, but also sheer size (see picture), beating the Moevenpick Ibn Battuta into 2nd place and also leaving towels from The Address Hotels + Resorts, Rotana, JW Marriott Marquee, and the One & Only trailing behind.
Thirdly, Gulfood 2013 finished last week and, like 2012, some of our chefs excelled in the show’s Salon Culinaire!
Congratulations to Nuwan Abeyrathna and Indika Wickramatunga! Nuwan won a bronze medal for his bread showpiece, while Indika got a merit for his petits fours display.
