Our basketballers are champions & our towels have won, too! Don’t even mention our bread or petits fours!

March has been quite the month so far for us here in Jumeirah Lakes Towers!

First up, our hotel basketball team won the 2013 Dubai inter-hotel championship! Congratulations to Cezar & his team!

Secondly, our hotel towels were awarded the 2013 UAE Fluffies Award for the fluffiest hotel towels in the United Arab Emirates. Our towel won in the contest, which was launched by radio station Dubai 92 and judged by the stations breakfast show presenters Catboy and Posh Anna together with Katie Heskett from Ahlan!. The Bonnington towel won based on its fluffiness, but also sheer size (see picture), beating the Moevenpick Ibn Battuta into 2nd place and also leaving towels from The Address Hotels + Resorts, Rotana, JW Marriott Marquee, and the One & Only trailing behind.

Thirdly, Gulfood 2013 finished last week and, like 2012, some of our chefs excelled in the show’s Salon Culinaire!

Congratulations to Nuwan Abeyrathna and Indika Wickramatunga! Nuwan won a bronze medal for his bread showpiece, while Indika got a merit for his petits fours display.

Welcome to February! You survived the January sales and Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Time for some public service announcements:

We’ve recently made some changes to our airport transportation and we no longer offer shuttle busses to/from the airport. If you are holding a confirmed booking for shuttle transportation, you will receive a complimentary upgrade to limousine pick-up & drop-off.

Limousine pick-up or drop-off to/from Dubai International Airport, terminals 1 & 3 is now available for AED 225/way. Please contact us for rates for terminal 2.

We can also arrange transportation to/from Abu Dhabi Airport at AED 450/way and Sharjah Airport at AED 400/way.

Please also note that our local authority, DMCC, recently installed & activated access control barriers in our cluster. Hotel guests or visitors to our restaurants & bars arriving with their own cars should proceed up the ramp and drop the car with our valet parkers for complimentary valet parking. Guests booked in one of our serviced residences will benefit from having an allocated parking space for self-parking. Upon arrival, Reception will advise you of your parking place number & issue you with an access card.

There is also a new public parking, which is currently free, on the left of our cluster.

The Bonnington Jumeirah Lakes Towers congratulates its HR & Quality Manager, Diana Saxena, for being shortlisted for the 2012 Hotelier Middle East Awards as HR Person of the Year!

The Bonnington Hotel in JLT is very pleased to announce that its HR & Quality Manager, Diana Saxena, has been shortlisted for the prestigious ‘HR Person of the Year’ award in the 2012 Hotelier Middle East Awards – the Oscars of the hospitality industry in the United Arab Emirates and the wider region.

Diana, who joined the Bonnington’s pre-opening team in 2009 as Assistant HR Manager and was promoted to HR & Quality Manager in 2011, not only oversaw the successful pre- and post opening process, but also implemented a host of HR, training, and quality initiatives, which were fundamental in assuring consistently low staff turnover, high employee satisfaction, and continuously rising guest satisfaction scores.

“I congratulate Diana for being included in this year’s shortlist for this award and the entire Bonnington Hotel  & McGettigan’s Irish Pubs team will surely support her on 31^st October. We all wish her the very best and hope that she will win on the night!,” said GM of Bonnington Tower, Bruno Guilloux.

Diana has the full support of all her colleagues, who praise her cheerful and understanding nature, excellent organization skills, dedication, and reliability.

Having seen the Bonnington team grow from 60 employees to over 400 employees, including Dubai’s most popular Irish Pub chain, McGettigan’s, Diana said, “It’s a true pleasure working for the Bonnington and I really enjoy the freedom I am given by the owners to manage the company’s HR, training, and quality responsibilities and I enjoy being there for our colleagues and encouraging them to achieve their best at all times.”

The small print:
