Time flies! Can you believe that our official Grand Opening has been almost a year ago?

In our last blog post during the #bonningtonopens live-blogging event on 3rd May 2010, we said “See you all next year for the 1st anniversary party!” – well, and here it is now, welcome to the Bonnington’s 1st anniversary community carnival!

The Bonnington Hotel invites you down to join us in a family affair in the Garden at McGettigan’s to celebrate the Bonnington’s  1st anniversary on 7^th of May 2011 with a fun-filled day of family events!

Located in Jumeirah Lakes Towers, just opposite Dubai Marina, the Bonnington is within walking distance of Jumeirah Lakes Towers metro station!

The day kicks off with a variety of fun and games for children at the Bonnington Mini Carnival located in the Garden at McGettigan’s from 12 noon to 5 p.m. bringing you all sorts of entertainment including a bouncing castle,  face-painting  and our very own mascot, “Bonnington Bear”!

Complimentary food and refreshments will be served on the day especially created for the event by the Bonnington’s Executive Chef, Thomas Gagliardi!  Chef Thomas will get tummies rumbling with a mouth-watering hotdog station, a BBQ station and a ‘design your own’ cupcake/cookie station for all kids to get involved in!

Following this exciting event, the Hotel is also catering for older guests and invites parents and everybody else to join the celebration and receive a complimentary drink with any meal purchased in any of the Hotel’s restaurants and bars between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Pre-opening reloaded…

It’s been a while since we had the pleasure to write about our pre-opening and grand opening operations.
In fact, it’s been such a long time, we thought we’d do it all again, albeit on a much smaller scale and in gingerbread…
We’re proud to present you the 2010 gingerbread version of the Bonnington Jumeirah Lakes Towers:

Our culinary team will put the finishing touches on the gingerbread tower in the coming days and we’ll soon be celebrating the second grand opening!

Edison Cabuhat – The Lord of the Cakes!

A much belated shout-out to Edison, our Pastry Chef and creator of the Bonnington’s Grand Opening cake!

Edison, pictured above in front of the stunning cake he created for our opening party and accompanied by Mr. &  Mrs. McGettigan, worked tirelessly to create a cake replica of our building – complete with all 40 floors and our stunning Leisure Deck!

The cake didn’t only look good, it tasted great, too, though many people probably did not realise that the cake was actually real and not just some artificial concoction.

With the Grand Opening now over, Edison has turned his skills to create new cake varieties and shapes. Watch out for his latest creations!

This is it, folks! The final part of #bonningtonopens live blogging. The party is officially over, though many guests are still having a grand time in Healey’s.

#bonningtonopens – We’re live! (VI)

We’re getting ready for the evening part of the Grand Opening. Over 600 guests are expected to attend a black tie event that will take up most of our public areas.

Dublin’s 98FM Declan Pierce will broadcast his daily show live from our lobby, a string quartet will paly in the Authors’ Lounge, and a band will entertain guests in the Cavendish.
Later in the evening, a DJ will start spinning the tables in Healey’s Bar.
