The curse has been broken…

The curse of seven 100% positive reviews in a row on TripAdvisor, that is. Needless to say, we would have preferred for the excellent run to continue for longer, but the reality is that we’re a five-star hotel in soft-opening and the Bonnington isn’t operated by robots. So here goes…

Many thanks for your very detailed review of our property.We were sorry to hear that we did not live up to your expectations on this occasion.

The ongoing development of the areas surrounding the hotel is, unfortunately, outside our control – the hotel lobby itself is fully finished, however, and the only reason for us using the hotel apartments lobby & reception desk for the time being is that the area outside the actual hotel entrance is currently being completed by the local authority contractors and therefore not accessible.

Your comments in regards to your check-in experience are very valid and I have already passed them on to our Front Office Manager. We are waiting for the last few remaining pieces of IT equipment to arrive within the next few days which will then enable us to produce guest keys directly at Reception the way it should be. This equipment should have been here prior to the opening of the hotel floors, but unfortunately got delayed.

Staff training is one of our highest priorities at the moment and we are currently conducting a thorough review of our training needs and are also carrying out daily on-the-job training with our associates, many of whom, as you point mentioned, have only joined us recently – your review will help us greatly in this matter!

In regards to the Internet, we have now doubled our bandwidth and within the next few days will have a properly working network in all rooms, apartments and public areas, both wired as well as wireless. I appreciate the frustration the Internet access issues caused you and other guests and you should have received accurate information when you enquired about it.

As you pointed out, we are currently offering exceptionally low rates while we are still in our soft-opening period. Improvements are made on a daily basis – we recently opened our restaurant for lunch and dinner and our bar has also just opened.

Once again, many thanks for your constructive feedback – reviews like yours surely help to keep TripAdvisor a reliable source for hotel reviews for all travellers.
