And the winner is…
…Reservations, Engineering and Housekeeping!
In the run up to Christmas, some of our departments launched an unofficial festive season’s decoration competition, which ended yesterday.
Associates from our Engineering, Housekeeping and Reservations departments battled it out to see who has the best decorated office area. There were no rules, other than that no company money should be used in the process (we’re spending that on looking after our guests and for the occasional official staff outing), and the judges were so impressed with the outcome that they decided to award three 1st prizes!
In the true tradition of five-star hotel housekeeping, our Housekeeping associates came up with a beautiful Christmas tree, decorated very creatively with empty shampoo bottles filled with fake snow and photos of all team-members. First prize for creativity!
1st prize for upholding tradition and good use of window space went to our Reservations & Revenue team. Their office featured a parachuting Santa (who also sings “Jingle Bells” if you squeeze his left hand) and plenty of other traditional Christmas imagery.
Our Engineering team took 1st place for overall design and clever use of materials: Almost entirely constructed from waste material, the area outside the Engineering office in our basement was transformed into a winter wonderland complete with Rudolf the Reindeer!
