As mentioned in previous posts, we do not usually post TripAdvisor reviews on our blog anymore, because there are simply too many these days. However, this week we’ll make an exception for the following:

Congratulations to “anorthernbear” and “mattokeeffe”, who tied for the much competed title of “100th Bonnington Reviewer on TripAdvisor” – due to some strange TA related technical issues, both reviews popped in at almost the same time, so we declared a tie:

We decided to also make an exception for the following, because we’re not sure that TripAdvisor will post our management reply:

“Dear JINXStAndrews,

Fret not! All is fixed! We have spoken to the Dubai government and this afternoon, the Bonnington Group bought the entire city from them. We now own Dubai and will therefore gladly accept all Dubai-related criticism and try and get the city fixed up to Singapore standards asap.

Our Engineers are currently hard at work building a copy of Singapore’s Botanical Garden, which will be located on a copy of Sentosa Island, which will be linked to our tower by a footpath.

Singapore’s been around in one way or the other since 1819. Dubai and the UAE have been around since 1971. Talk about Singapore being a couple of years ahead!

On a more serious note, I thank you for your review and I am glad that you liked the hotel and thought that it was very good. I was somewhat disappointed to hear, though, that you will not be recommending us to your friends.

You may also be interested to hear that we recently started a shuttle service to Nakheel Harbour & Tower metro station, which will continue to run until the Jumeirah Lakes Towers station just down the road from us has opened.

Best regards,

Martin Kubler FIH

Director of Operations”

Lastly, and while we’re on the subject of TripAdvisor, did anybody else notice the shiny new Facebook “Like” button that TripAdvisor recently added to hotel listings?

It looks a bit like this and we encourage you to click it:
