A fire drill, new signs, and the makings of JLT’s first pub…

Last week, we conducted a fire-drill and mock evacuation of parts of the building – thanks to all our guests and staff for bearing with us during this exercise, which we have to carry out several times a year as per local authority guidelines.
We’re happy to report that, overall, everything went very smoothly. Here are a couple of pictures of our fire team members in all their fluorescent glory:

In other news: We are currently in the process of installing an additional bright Bonnington sign on the Almas side of our building. We already have one, facing Emirates Hills, and the new sign will hopefully further assist guests in finding our hotel:

Last, but not least: We’re gearing up for the launch of McGettigan’s Irish Pub – Jumeirah Lakes Towers’ first proper pub and Dubai’s first fully Irish owned and operated Irish Pub!

Currently, the place is still a bit of a building site, but work is progressing very fast. Here’s a sneak preview of the inside of the pub:

The McGettigan’s  opened their first pub in Dublin in 1964 and we’re proud to shortly be able to bring you the authentic Irish pub experience in the heart of new Dubai!

From a well poured pint of Guinness, or a shot of Jameson, to Irish breakfasts and other fine Irish fare – McGettigan’s will have it all, plus so much more – live sports, music, and the friendliest service in town!

Get ready for the craic from 20th November 2010 onwards!
